For the most part I agree 100%, but...
The current range is exactly what the problem is. They speak about heritage and whatnot, but what you see are high-end premium vehicles with insane pricetags (even more so in Finland, thanks to the taxation) The versatility is there, the simplicity is not.
They even said themselves, that the new Defender replacement would be utilitarian, reliable, etc. etc. but not necessarily cheap
It's becoming too much of a lifestyle thing, IMHO.
